3. We were told by Abdullah bin Muhammed bin Abdul-Wahab, that he said: We were informed by Abu’l-Hasan, Ahmad bin Muhammed bin Abdullah bin Hamza al-Sha’rani al-Ammari – from the offspring of Ammar bin Yasir – that he said: We were told by Abu Muhammed, Ubaydullah bin Yahya bin Abdul-Baqi al-Adhani – in Adhana – that he said: We were told by Ali bin Hasan al-Ma’ani, that he said: We were told by Abdullah bin Yazid, fromYahya bin ‘Aqaba bin Abi’l-‘Aizaz, that he said: We were told by Muhammed bin Hajjar, from Yazid bin Asam, that he said: A man asked Umar bin Khattab, so he said: O Commander of the Believers, what is the interpretation of «Glorified be Allah»? He said: Within this wall is a man whom if asked, he would inform, and if he is silent, he would take initiative (to talk). So the man entered, and it was Ali bin Abi Talib, peace be upon him, so he said: O father of Hasan, what is the interpretation of «Glorified be Allah»? He said: It is a magnification of the Glory and Extolment of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, above what every polytheist has said about Him. Hence, if a servant says it, every Angel will send blessings upon him.

Alors l'homme entra et trouva Ali ibn Abi Talib, que la paix soit sur lui, et lui demanda: 'Ô Aba Al-Hassan, quelle est l'interprétation de 'Subhanallah'?' Il répondit: 'C'est glorifier la grandeur d'Allah, exalté soit-Il, et le purifier de ce que tout polythéiste dit à Son sujet. Lorsque le serviteur le dit, chaque ange prie pour lui."
