1. Muḥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz Al-Kūfi narrated to me from his uncle Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Mūsā ibn Sa’dān, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Qāsim, from ‘Umar ibn Abān Al-Kalbi, from Abān ibn Taghlib, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: There are four thousand angels by the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust. They cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. Their chief is an angel named Mansūr. These angels receive everyone who comes to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) and they accompany them when they bid farewell to Ḥusain (a.s.). They visit them if they become ill and they establish prayers on them at their funerals when they die and seek forgiveness for them after their death.

My father, Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan, and ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Ḥakam, from ‘Ali ibn Abī Ḥamzah, from Abī Basīr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, has dedicated seventy thousand angels to Ḥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust who send blessings on him every day. They pray for those who come to his Ziyārah by saying, “O Lord! These are the visitors of Ḥusain (a.s.)! Do such-and-such for them and (reward them with) such-and-such.”

Ḥusain ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Āmir narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Isḥāq ibn Sa’d, from Sa’dān ibn Muslim, from ‘Umar ibn Abān, from Abān ibn Taghlib, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: It is as if I can see the Qā`im (a.s.) in Najaf (next to) Kūfah wearing the armour of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.). He will shake the armour (first) and then it will wrap itself around him, after which he will cover it with a robe made of brocade. He will be riding a pitch-black horse which has a raceme on its forehead. He will jump (with) the horse in such a way that people in every country will see him as if he is with them in their (own) country. Then he will unfold the flag of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.). The flag-pole is from the pillars of the Throne while the rest (of the flag) is from Allāh’s victory! If he points this flag to anything, Allāh will destroy it. When he shakes the flag, the heart of every believer will become like a strong piece of iron and each believer will be given the strength of forty men. Every believer who has died will feel the happiness (of the rising of the Qā`im (a.s.)) in his grave. They (the dead believers) will start visiting one another in their graves and will give glad tidings to one another about the rising of the Qā`im (a.s.). Then thirteen thousand three hundred and thirteen angels will join the Qā`im (a.s.). I (Abān ibn Taghlib) asked, “This many angels will join him?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Yes. (These are) the angels who were with Nūḥ in the ark, with Ibrāhīm when he was cast in the fire, with Mūsā when he split the sea for the Banī Israel, and who were with ‘Isā when Allāh ascended him to Himself. (Among these angels are also) the four thousand “(fully equipped) distinguished angels” and the one thousand “angels [who came] in an unbroken succession” who were with the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), the three hundred and thirteen angels who fought in the Battle of Badr, and the four thousand angels who descended to fight along with Ḥusain (a.s.) but who were not permitted to (fight). They (these four thousand angels) remain by the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), disheveled and covered with dust. They cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. Il a dit : "Il m'est apparu comme si j'étais debout à Najaf al-Kufa et que j'avais revêtu l'armure du Messager d'Allah (que la paix soit sur lui), et il la secouait, la faisant briller, puis il la revêtait et montait un cheval bai avec une marque blanche entre les yeux. Il secouait alors une secousse telle que les habitants d'une ville pensaient qu'il était parmi eux dans leur pays. Le drapeau du Messager d'Allah (que la paix soit sur lui) se déploie, son mât est un pilier du Trône et tout le reste est de l'aide d'Allah. Rien ne la fait pencher vers quoi que ce soit sans qu'Allah ne le déchire. Quand il la secoue, il ne reste aucun croyant dont le cœur ne devienne comme du fer. Le croyant reçoit la force de quarante hommes et il n'y a pas un croyant sans que cette joie n'entre dans sa tombe, au moment où ils se rencontrent dans leurs tombes et se réjouissent de la résurrection du Qa'im. Alors, treize mille et trois cents anges se mettent en colère contre lui. J'ai dit : "Tous ces anges ?" Il a dit : "Oui, ceux qui étaient avec Noé dans l'arche, ceux qui étaient avec Abraham quand il fut jeté au feu, ceux qui étaient avec Moïse quand la mer se sépara pour les Enfants d'Israël, ceux qui étaient avec Jésus quand Allah l'éleva vers Lui, et quatre mille anges avec le Prophète (que la paix soit sur lui) marqués, mille renforcés, treize cents anges de Badr, et quatre mille anges descendirent, voulant combattre avec al-Husayn (que la paix soit sur lui), mais on ne leur permit pas de combattre. Ils restent près de sa tombe, pleins de poussière et de désolation, pleurant sur lui jusqu'au Jour du Jugement, leur chef étant un ange appelé Mansur. Aucun visiteur ne vient sans être accueilli, aucun adieu n'est fait sans qu'ils ne l'accompagnent, aucun malade ne reste malade sans qu'ils ne le guérissent, aucun mort ne meurt sans qu'ils ne prient sur son corps et demandent pardon pour lui après sa mort. Tous ceux-là sur terre attendent la résurrection du Qa'im (que la paix soit sur lui) jusqu'à son apparition, que les prières et la paix d'Allah soient sur lui."
