1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Faddal and Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yasir who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once said to me, ‘Buy al-Khazz (garments made of skin or fur of an animal that lives in water) for yourself or if you like buy al-Washy.’ I then asked, ‘All with al- Washy?’ He (the Imam) asked, ‘ What is al-Washy ?’ I replied, ‘It is that which has no cotton in it and they say it is unlawful.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You can wear what has cotton in it.’”
